Lockie Bennett Year 13 -  Awarded the Jann Medlicott Scholarship Arts Award

Congratulations to one of our Year 13 musicians, Lockie Bennett.  He has been awarded the Jann Medlicott Arts Award; a $2000.00 Scholarship awarded to a student about to commence study in preparation for a career in the Creative Arts. 
Lockie has put a lot of time and effort in to the Music Department during his 5 years at Otumoetai College, and I am sure you will agree he is a very deserving recipient.  Well done Lockie.

Chemquest Success

We sent 5 teams of Year 12 Chemistry students to the University of Waikato Chemquest competition during the holidays.
This was a very successful evening and one team in particular did very well (they were ranked above the top teams of both Boys and Girls Colleges.  Our top team were 9th overall out of 45 teams. The winning team had a score of 44.5 and our team was only 6 points behind on 38.5.

Matthew Bogers
Ethan Hanlon
Best news of all, is that the 15 students gave up a day of their holidays for this and they said that they thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  Thanks to everyone who made this possible.
