Otumoetai College is a Co-educational, State School established 1965; Year 9 to Year 13.
Our predicted roll for 2010 is 1880, with an additional 80 international fee-paying students enrolled. Otumoetai College is the managing school for three Alternative Education Providers and has an off-site Teen Parents Unit at the BOP Polytechnic.

Senior Leadership Team consists of:

One of four state secondary schools in Tauranga (the others are Mt Maunganui College, Tauranga Boys’ College and Tauranga Girls’ College). The other close secondary schools are Bethlehem College (an integrated Christian School) and Aquinas College (an integrated Catholic School).
Excellent facilities:
Over the past years the College has had major upgrade of facilities in the Science, Technology, Library, Business, Computing, English, Mathematics, Social Studies, computer graphic Art suite, Health / P.E. Sport pavilion and a recently remodelled Administration and Performing Arts area (includes Music / Drama and a new staffroom).
- The Whare Wananga, Okohanga, was officially opened February 2002. This is complimented with a Whare Kai.
- 2 large gymnasiums including squash courts, climbing wall, weight lifting and dance rooms.

The College has a reputation of excellence in Music, both vocal and instrumental, and is renowned for high quality Stage and Musical productions. The College regularly represents New Zealand at the International Concert Band competitions usually held in either Australia or Hawaii. There are also International tours planned for sporting and cultural experiences.
The School offers an extensive range of sporting activities, with 50 codes available to students, and teams frequently featuring at top national level. The school competes on average in 25 national sporting competitions annually with a record of success.
There is an excellent Pastoral Care structure with an effective student support programme in operation and every effort is made to reduce the possible impersonal nature of such a large school.
The College has many innovative learning programmes, which include, Transition to work, Gateway, a comprehensive outdoor education programme, Learning Centre for Excellence, Multi-Level options and a programme for Advanced Learners.
